    Hey!

I'm looking for MSI reseller in Canada (or Quebec) for the GT627. I know some store here sale them, but they only have one model which is the GT627-217CA (2.5Ghz, 500GB) at 1800$ CND + taxes like Microbytes in Pte-Claire, Quebec or Lu Computer in Ontario.

I also know that Newegg Canada have 2 models from 1300$ to 1600$ + tax, shipping, handling.

If you know more, let me know!

    Thanks!
    Seb

Well I wish you good luck Seb because I had to get my MSI gt725 in USA....Your best bet would be to check on MSI website ( http://www.msi-computer.ca/notebook/dealer.php) and to call the different resellers on their site. I hope that helps!!

Ok well for now, the best place is Newegg.ca.

    Let say that I pick the GT627-216US (P8400, 320GB) for 1374$ CND

    +handling: 177.19$CND
+shipping: 26.76$CND (Ups Standard, or expedited for 66$)

for a total of 1578.94$ CND

Do I need to include the custom duty or because its Newegg.CA its all okay?

    Thanks!

Well you won't have to pay any customs fee and the price given by Newegg will be the one you will have to pay. And don't worry with Newegg because it's a great online reseller.

    Glad to help!!!

and if I buy it from Xotic PC? It's in the US with USD price.

But ive notice from Xoticpc.com in the shipping section:

Canada UPS Ground 3-6 days with normal customs clearance $57.00

Canada UPS Express 1-3 days with normal customs clearance - No UPS Brokerage Charges $129.00

What is No UPS Brokerage Charges?

Don't ask me about those customs fee because I got my GT725 delivered in a post office in USA. That way I avoided the customs fee and all the taxes!

The brokerage fees are what UPS charges to process your package and all the paperwork through customs. You can also reference brokerage fees directly on UPS's website here

Well Canada has always been less fortunate than other places for laptops. Newegg.ca sells the GT627 with the P8400 if you insist on that model.

newegg is your friend again for this one, but believe me, I'm about o buy this computer too, and I'm seriously thinking about getting it from the USA... The product itself is so cheaper... as an exemple, newegg has msi gt725, p8600 4 Go, no blue-ray, windows vista 32 bits with 1 year warranty for 1853.39 (shipping + taxes included, i'm also in quebec) while on xoticpc.com i could get the msi gt729 with a blue -ray reader, windows vista 64 bits, 2 year global warranty + 1 year acidental with ariplane shipping for 1906 canadian dollar(shipping, canadian taxes(GST + PST), and brokerage fees included in shipping).... for 50 bucks you get much more. (It might exceed what you planned to spend on a computer though it was just an exemple.)

Lol old thread but thanks anyway. Newegg is pretty cool because we can get US model without the Shipping/Border/Brokerage Fees/etc problems.

    Anyway I went for a Asus G50VT.

I stepped away from the g50 range, apparently they suffered deeply from gpu heat issues.
Although the w90 is very impressive.

use eBay or ask a reseller that shares your fiscal viewpoint (not paying 13% tax on expensive computer equipment) to declare the item as a gift.

Duties brokerage and all those import fees are the "handling" fees you see. It works the same way when using amazon.com to ship in Canada :)

I would definetly reccomend NCIX, thats where I got mine. The 217-CA was 1550 and it shipped from BC to Toronto in 4 days
