So, I was using my laptop while it was plugged in and it randomly turned off. No BSOD or any noises or the like. It refused to turn on again after that incident. Besides not turning on, I notice that when the AC adaptor is plugged into teh laptop the green light on the adaptor turns off. The battery should be fully charged since for the last week I'v been running it plugged in with the battery in as well. Anyone have any ideas what it could be? I was thinking motherboard short. I assume I will have to RMA it unless anyone has some hidden knowledge. Thanks for the help.

    TL;DR
    • Laptop turned off randomly
    • It wont turn on again
    • Battery should be full
    • AC adaptor light turns off when plugged into laptop
    • Laptop is 6 months old

Yeah looks like a short or some sort of hardware fault.

You might try disconnecting the AC adapter and the battery, then hold the power button for 30 secs. That can sometimes help, but in this case I don't think it will (can't hurt to try though).

Aye I tried that it has been sitting for a while now too. No idea how it managed to short itself on a table not moving though. Ah well RMA time, gonna be obnoxious sending it from college.

RMA'd it and they replaced the graphics card.
