Is MSI still making barebones gaming notebooks and if so where can they be bought? My Last notebook was a MSI 680m barebone and I wanted to go the same route again.

Most popular MSI barebones/whitebook. Has a desktop Skylake CPU and GTX 1070 or GTX 1060. Can also be downgraded to 900m series and even use Quadro cards for pro work.
It's also already been confirmed that via a BIOS update will support Kaby Lake 7th gen Core CPUs.DukeCLR likes this. -
One of the cheapest routes to go that I know of is the Eurocom Tornado F5. Desktop 6700K and 1070 in a debranded MSI GT62 case. edit: Already linked above.

One thing that strikes me is that the display options on the Eurocom are not very high quality, so keep that in mind. -
