    Hi
You guys can check you my thread in my sig below for the MSI coverage. There are lots of pics of the upcoming MSI notebooks and many other products.

I will be there tomorrow for the last day. If you have any question for MSI let me know.

Ask if the GX740 will be available as a barebones so I can add my own dual-core i7-620M. ;)

If it's not too late, ask when the u230 is expected to be available for purchase. Thanks

I'm sure it is too late now, but I *really* want the answer to that question. I'm at the point now where I'm considering the x100e, which is becoming available, but I like the design of the u230 a little bit better. It's been announced for like 2 months, if you include the leak, and no one has even hinted at when there will be availability.

I'm in the same boat as you. The u230 has everything I want (but 3g, however it has a spare mini pci-e slot) however it seems quite elusive. I need HDMI so that rules the x100e and ul20a out and the ability to add 3g, so the acer 1410 is a no go. I wish they would set a firm date, as if it was cancelled I'd just pick up a u210 and not have to worry about the superior model coming out a few days later.

Check out my thread. All of the new ones come with US 3.0 I believe.

Is that for the u230? If so I will be quite annoyed, as I was hoping it would be released later this month.

Cool. I'd love it if MSI beat the ASUS G73 to market since I had MSI picked for release of the first Mob. HD 5870. ;)

The MSI Wind12 U230 is an ultraportable with HD 3200 graphics - it's a Wind, not a gaming notebook. It's attractive because it doesn't have pathetic Intel graphics and has a decent CPU.

If it is delayed until April, then MSI might as well not even release it, because all of us that were waiting will have bought Toshiba T115D's and Lenovo x100e's by then

Toshiba T115D's have already been announced to be available on the 17th of this month - 11.6, Congo platform. I can't imagine that Han Bao Quan is talking about the u230. If so, however, there will be more competition from Toshiba, and Asus supposedly is releasing a Congo variant of the 1201N, called the 1201T.

The MSI U230 Congo platform hit the FCC though in early December, so I think Quan may be referring to something else. Let's hope so.

EDIT: I went for the Tosh with a dual core Neo. MSI made me wait too long.

Seems like there's more Athlon Neo x2 models then AMD is openly advertising.

There's the L335 1.6Ghz which is offered by HP, and which used to be advertised in the MSI U210 and U230 (it's not anymore for either).

There's the L310 1.3 Ghz which is in the Acer Ferrari One...that made it onto Amazon US but never got any inventory in.

Now there's the L325 1.5Ghz in the Tosh T115D which is the only Athlon Neo x2 model listed on AMD.com.

The Ferrari One was in stock at Newegg for a while. Newegg also has the Fujitsu P3010, another Congo (nv-40) in stock, but it's $499.

OOO...Amazon does have the Toshiba. I'm going for the Toshiba - I can't stand the track point sitting in the middle of the keyboard, and the fact that the touchpad buttons sit right at the very edge on the Lenovo. That's what I liked about the MSI U230, too, the buttons were a bit recessed from the very edge, but MSI has taken way too long to get it to market (and teased us way too much, too). The Toshiba looks great - it's got a textured finish AND it comes in red :).

I want to order it from Amazon, but it looks like they only have it in the single core, but it has HDMI, eSata and WiFi bgn, not to mention it's $50 less, and I have a gift certificate from Amazon. Decisions, decisions. I really want it with dual core - maybe amazon will have it with the dual core in a couple of days (and in red).

Correction - Amazon has both the single core ($449) and the dual core ($499) in stock. My wait is over. Still wish I could get it in red from Amazon.

Does anyone knows which MXM type GE600/GE700 are using?
