Hello all, hopefully someone will be able to help me.

When I press Fn+F6 the camera sprite displays in the corner, and Windows then tells me "USB Device not Recgognized."

I searched and found a link to the drivers. When I tried running the app in the drivers folder it reports "Camera Init Failed." Then it closes.

I tried manually selecting the driver in the /driver folder from the download and Windows tells me it cannot find a better driver.

Finally I reistalled windows completely. Upon initial boot-up, the camera worked... for about 5 minutes. Windows would (seeming randomly) disconnect the camera, close the camera window and tell me its unrecognized again. Occasionally it will just work again, as if out of nowhere, but only for a little while.

    Any ideas?

Try turning off the laptop unplug it and also remove the battery. Open it back up and push the power button without the battery or power cord attached. Now plug it in with the power cord and boot it up. If it works, power it down again and put the battery back in and boot it up again.

OK, I tried that, and still the same issue.

I installed the newest BIOS .10B and that did not help either.

I hope its not a hardware problem...

Does MSI pay for shipping to them? Its only 5 days old, and the store has no more in stock. :/

lol. that's pretty stupid. however, it does work, SOMETIMES. so its not the camera program. I love this notebook, but the thought of sending a brand new unit in irks me. EEE here i come, i guess.
