The MSI VR320 is my second notebook. My first is still the ThinkPad T61 (7663A21).

    As a brief introduction :

    - I bought it on 4 Sep 07 after visiting the Comex 2007 exhibition (in Singapore) after comparing value-for-money notebooks from various brands. MSI was the winner.

    - This is an entry-level notebook. It is meant to be a value series notebook for private / home users.

    - It has a polished surface 13.3 inch wide-screen with bright contrast. This size is particulary well balanced being not too big nor too small.

    - My version comes with Intel Core Duo T2450 processor at 2 GHz clock-speed. This is very good value considering its budget price.

    - My version comes with 1 GB RAM and 120 GB HDD, loaded with Vista Home Premium. This is very good value considering its budget price.

    - The plastic parts feels very solid and their fittings is good, overall.

    - The package comes with an optical mouse, a potective carry bag, original builder's softwares CDs, and a complimentary low capacity 512 MB MP3 player. This is very fair value considering its budget price.

The problems with the MSI VR320 include :

    - The keyboard has a good feel but requires solid pressure on the keys before they respond.

    - The touch pad is not as responsive as the average notebooks on the market. E.g. It has vertical-scroll feature but oftenly does not function with the first attempt.

    - The left & right mouse buttons are very, very stiff, requiring very deliberate effort to actuate.

    - The WiFi-radio oftenly switches OFF by itself causing unnecessary disconnections which can be annoying at times.

    - Its 6-cell battery-life is unusually short; you are lucky if you get 2 hrs up time after a full charge. Worse is that hi-cap battery does not exist.

Overall, this is a budget notebook. It is great for starters.

Do not use it as your main notebook for critical / business usage(s).

It is alright to have the MSI VR320 for leisure purpose or if you already have another more dependable notebook on standby.

Hi, I see you have some problems with ur MSI wireless and not able to find higher cap. battery.

Maybe I can help you :) I have had to figure out my own laptop as the support doesn't have my model :) Being former support tech that wasn't hell but not easy either, so if i can help i will :)

First i need to know what model your wireless card is, MSI uses their own(its actually Ralink) and sometimes Intel, so if you tell me i will try to find you a new driver. It solved much of my problems.
I also need to know if you are using XP or vista, and what the laptop came with when you bought it.

Regarding the battery, tell me what the model number is on the one you have now and i will try to find you a high cap on the net.

    With kind regards
