I bought a matched pair of 2GB Crucial sticks from eBay, which match the spec MSI list for this netbook, but when I insert them both it will not boot up, but if I insert each one on its own into either slot it boots up fine. It's running Win7 Home Premium.

    MSI site states: DDR2 667/800MHz, 2 SO-DIMM slots, Max: 4GB

    Crucial spec: DDR2 PC2-5300 | CL=5 | Unbuffered | NON-ECC | DDR2-667 | 1.8V | 256Meg x 64

Any ideas what the issue might be?

Any suggestions before I sell the sticks?

Try a different brand such as Corsair or Adata instead of Crucial.

You mentioned it boots with the one stick inserted. Is that the case in either bank? If you haven't tried, take the one Crucial stick out and try it in the other slot, with the one you know it works in unpopulated.

If it works in the other bank and the problem is only with both being populated, try another brand as Kevin suggested. A QVL would be helpful here. Perhaps you can contact MSI support and ask if they have one. :)

I tried both sticks on their own in each slot and it boots up fine with either combo, but put them both in together and it does nothing.

I decided to get a single 2 GB stick matched to what's already in it, so I'll see if that works.
