Hi folks
I have a problem with my U230, the Bios clock keeps resetting to the default date and time of around 2001 or 2002, i cant remember the exact date now.
I am hoping its something simple like the mainboard battery, is there one on a notebook, if there is can it be replaced by joe blogs (me) or is it something more serious please?
Yours hopefully?
Bashy

I dont believe this is serious, i have this with my aged windows 98, i just think its as you said, CMOS battery gone flat, and should be replacable, unless some connection to the battery has been strangely cut, will do a google search for the u230 dissasembly guide (If it exists.)

Hi
Thanks for the reply, I found the battery, its the cr2032 i think it was, any way
there 3v and i checked it on the multimeter and thats saying 3v...
When trying to set the time in the BIOS, it skips about 10hrs, i.e. goes from 0:00
to around 11:00 then back to 0:00, if i go the other way it goes from 23:00
down to 19:00 misses 18:00 totally cause that was the the time i was trying
to set in there lol you have to type in the numbers and not use the - + buttons
