So I bought this laptop at the beginning of the year and a couple of weeks ago my battery light started continuously blinking Amber. I had just gotten back from vacation and checked my products warranty which said it was in warranty (which it should be since I've only had the computer for 8 months)
It required the bios version when I originally tried to file the claim which I forgot how to find quickly and I was in a rush so I figured I would do it a bit later when I had more time.
Yesterday I filed the claim finally now that I had some time to sit down and do it right; and I find out my battery warranty expired like 10 days ago? What kind of a garbage warranty is that?! Now they want to charge me $70 just to diagnose the problem because the battery warranty is apparently out even though it should be a year shouldn't it? Not to mention the battery works 100% fine so I can't help but feel it's not even the battery that is the issue.
Has anyone heard of this happening or know of a good alternative to my problem? I definitely do not have the money to pay for a fix that should be covered and has not even shown any real problem (I just don't want to look at a blinking Amber light forever on this thing). And I've also heard of people with this issue having it be something non battery related.
I gotta say I'm pretty surprised that MSI would start a one year warranty on the battery when it's manufacturered, so I get screwed because it sat on the shelf for almost 4 months before I bought it...definitely not buying another msi product that's for sure
Thanks in advance!
