As some of you may know, Windows 10's DPI scaling is flaky ever since the initial release until this date. You set a DPI scaling, some programs adhere to it and others ignore it and display blurred as if you were running the screen in a non-native resolution.
For more detail about what I mean, see:
Today, just for testing, I installed the MSI Sizing Options (available for most if not MSI laptops) and tried to set a DPI scaling of 125% or even 150%, to my surprise, everything was crystal clear, just the way Windows 7 / 8 DPI scaling worked, all programs adhered to the DPI scaling as if it were applied on a system level rather on a per app basis. Who cares how, but it works! no need for using the above tool which has to start every time you boot Windows. this couldn't have been easier! props to MSI for this awesome tool and whatever method they use to apply the DPI scaling.
Now, getting a 4K screen isn't as horrible as it first sounded to me before![]()

Yup, i noticed that too but i also tried the other fix you mentioned. Question is, how do i safely "uninstall" the Windows 10 DPI Fix? Since it's not a classic installation i'd like to remove every trace of it from my system.
Btw, Google Chrome's "search bar", which you open pressing CTRL+F, still has a bit of blur on 125% (happens also with w10 dpi fix) on a FHD Panel, not sure why. -
I might give it a try with my 4K TV and see how it looks. DPI was always an issue with windows.

apply and exit
now, download Autoruns and run Autoruns64.exe
then delete the startup entry for the Windows DPI fixhmscott likes this. -

Thanks for this @Phoenix. Since I anticipate getting an MSI laptop in the coming few months, I've added this to my watch list as I use a lot of old apps that don't work with normal Windows 10 scaling.

Wonder if this can be downloaded as a standalone app? When the UI was scaled to 150% on the GS63VR I didn't even notice the scaling.
The only MSi utility I find that's important is the Dragon Center for the GS63VR, everything else I just removed.
Even then I only ever use dragon center to max out the fans (as the GS63VR does not come with a fan button).
Edit: to answer why, Dragon Center sucks too much power from the laptop. It polls the dGPU to be active most of the time making Optimus useless and the CPU power idle shoots from 1.6w to around 5watts. 6700HQ undervolted.
Inefficient monitoring of system status too. I find HWinfo to be much more detailed yet less demanding on idle CPU power.Aroc, hmscott and Spartan@HIDevolution like this. -

Also, your Visual C++ libraries are outdated, run this, it will remove all of them and reinstall them all from scratch in one go with the latest versions and all libraries from 2005 till 2017:

Hey bro, just now im browsing the web and suddenly my laptop's screen suddenly turned black, moving the mouse and pressing the keyboard didn't make any difference. I can say that it's still on because the lights are still there. What i did is press the sleep button fn+f12 and waited for few secs before moving the mouse and there's the screen again. But i noticed in the display settings there's a note saying in red color "some apps won't respond to scaling changes until you sign out" and also everything was bigger like fonts, icons and windows. This is the 2nd time it happened to me, I'm thinking that this thread could be related to this problem somehow. Any thoughts.?

Do you also get blurry text on some websites using Google Chrome? Search bar is also a bit blurry, that's really odd.

I love, love, love this utility (MSI Sizing Options) on my Eurocom Tornado F5 (MSI 16L13 barebones). So much so, I want to install it on my Windows 2012 R2 Terminal Server, lol!
