    Hi,

I have owned MSI S270 since last august.

The computer worked fine for most part, but ocassionally the system would freeze, usually during the first boot. I’ve read in the forums that this might’ve been caused by DDR400 and I’ve decided to try the beta 431 BIOS that allows me to set RAM speed to DDR333.

Unfortunately after the update (which went fine, no errors) I can no longer boot into my OS, nor can I launch a windows setup. I have tried reverting to old BIOS, to no avail.

If I select SAFE mode, the last drivers loaded by windows are crcdisk.sys, drvmain.sdb and acpitabl.dat; after that hard disk goes silent and nothing happens anymore.

I don't understand why reverting to old BIOS doesn't fix the problem. Please help I have no idea how to fix this problem!

    Thanks,
    ~Dani

Mild good news, I have found this thread that explains how to get your machine to boot again:

Basically unplug the power cord and battery for 10 minutes. Hope it works for other people if they have trouble with BIOS 431 (I went back to 430 for now).
