Hi, I've been looking around and I haven't seen anyone talking about the new Skylake PE60. Does anyone have it yet? I notice there's a 6QE-031US and a 6QE-062US version - is the only difference the extra 4GB of RAM in the 62?

If anyone owns one, can you speak to the quality of the build? Sound? Screen? I assume there's an mSata slot?

Would love to get some info here. My girlfriend wants a nice multimedia laptop, and it looks like it'll probably be down to this model or the new XPS-15.

(Thoughts on the Skylake XPS 15 would be appreciated too)

Yes if the numbers and letters are the same (in this case 6QE) then the base items like CPU and GPU will be the same, it comes down to the other items like the ram and the storage you need to look at then.

Correct, not any major differences between the two and you could have course make the one similar to the other :)

They do have an M.2 Slot. The build quality is pretty good, I always like seeing these when we have them back in production as they are sleek and smooth :)

    Hi, thanks for the replies.

I'm leaning towards the MSI over the XPS due to cost with regards to hardware, but would love to get my girlfriends hands on both of them to see which she likes more. Not easy to do, esp. with the MSI. I'll keep an eye on the boards to see what people are saying.

Alex, I'd love to get her and/or (at some point) my laptop through XoticPC, but I live in Canada, so I'm thinking it might make more sense to get it from a retailer North of the border (esp. with the Canadian dollar as weak as it is now).

Is there a fry's or micro center there? I believe they may sell both.

I understand the exchange rates and either way happy to help out fellow NBR members :)

Let us know what you end up deciding, looking forward to hearing the outcome for you!

You can buy the same screen from the 2QE and put it in the 6QE I'm assuming correct?
