Yep, got a promo from Nvidia, available from 26.01.2021. But no brands mentioned.
-
Is that the power on the left side or the 3.5 mm for a headset?
-
I know people are probably tired of the Q by now. but any with ryzen?
-
In the manual of the GE76 I read "optimus". Can this be disabled for higher fps like with razer via software or mux switch?

I would have preferred the Tiger Lake CPU's instead of comet lake.
-
The GE76 redesign is pretty, but I am hating MSI's trend of removing the dedicated touchpad buttons. I won't buy a laptop that doesn't have them.

release date?

Is there a difference between the msi 3080 8 gb and 16gb variants beyond ram? I'm trying to find a 150w card.
-
they all seem to have only maxQ GPUs right?
-
Gonna slip a correction here. The ones listed on the gentech PC site say max P.
Still curious on the TDP's though.
I hope they arnt.bsch3r likes this. -
hum you made me confused ^^
I read somewhere maxQ in all specs but don't remember tbh
I checked all the french website where you can preorder but none states maxQ... -
you're right
for ex https://fr.msi.com/Laptop/GS66-Stealth-10UX/Specification are maxQ as written
and https://fr.msi.com/Laptop/GE76-Raider-10UX/Specification are not I think -
-
In this preview they say the 3080 in the GE76 is max P 150W (compared to the imo more modern Strix Scar 17 which is 115W + 15W max boost). Wish MSI had a QHD option.

If its 150w that's good for me. TBH 1080p is good enough for me on the go. I tend to tune my laptop to be quieter while I am out.
I might hold out for the rocket lake refresh which hopefully should have a 2k screen for us. -
Did i see right that ge76 has double tripod ****ed heatsink mounting?
Correct me if I am wrong?
But if true, than **** it. -
-
And from the heatsink design this will not be able to to sustain around 100W+ from 8 core cpu like i9 10980 or i7 10870. What is funny new ge76 has slower i7 8 core cpu than ge75 10sgs. ( ge75 has i7 10875h which is faster than 10870 by a margin of 100MHz)
Also look that both cpu heatsinks share some thermals with gpu. So at max full load cpu temps will be high if you want to sustain all core boostLast edited: Jan 17, 2021NuclearLizard likes this. -

Unfortunately the rendering seems to be correct. Double tripod...

Terrible year for laptops.
I'm going to wait until May/June to see what settles as the leader.
Right now the Strix Scar 17 is on top.
Some of the Intel 3080's barely keep up with high end 2080 supers. (aorus)
Might end up waiting for the intel refresh sometime next year.Spartan@HIDevolution and etern4l like this. -
Why do you say its a terrible year for laptops? I'm mad that MSI didn't make a titan 3080 and they didn't use AMD CPUs this year.

Personally the AMD adoption is HUGE! I'm supporting the move as intel as been holding things back for way too long. -
TigerlakeH (8core)/Rocket lake should be hitting in march. -
MSI reeleased this to clarify the TDP of all 3000 series equipped laptops:

They dropped the heatpipes but supposedly doubled the thickness.
