    Hello,

I have a Dell XPS 1645, I m quite happy with this laptop; screen, performance, construction and quite fan noise...

    But due to some policies I m not thinking of buying Dell. So I checked MSI and interested;
    MSI Türkiye ? Notebook - CX640
    MSI Türkiye ? Notebook - FX603

What do you think about these? Or general thoughts about MSI?
Specs are looking pretty good, I have no doubt on performance.
However I wonder about mostly; screen, fan noise, construction and battery?

    Thanks

Well let's just say there are other brands with better build quality. MSI is a decent laptop though. I don't have any 1st hand experience with any MSI laptop but a friend of mine has one, he had to have it fixed around thrice and finally just gave up on it. It is an old laptop though, not sure about current generation MSI laptops, we can never know how durable they really are until like, a year or so from now..Can't comment on the fan noise or screen or anything sorry.

    Hope this helps. Cheers. :)

I think overall MSI is making nice laptops, build quality is a tad worse than DELL though. Remember that every manufacturer want to attract buyers by making most stable/good quality products (there are some exeptions). I have MSI GX740- I'm sooo happy i didn't bought overpriced ALIENWARE, my friend just bought GX660R- and he's very happy too :D

I give overall, 8.5/10 for MSI while alienware and precision from dell scores 9.5 point.

Terms, conditions and personal preferences may apply :D

Why do you want to replace the 1645 with an MSI? I'll give my left arm for that beautiful xps... :D

While I don't have any first hand experience with an MSI laptop, I heard they have greatly improved on their build quality on their newer laptops, but their older ones were not so great, not sure when the changes were though so couldn't tell you how those two are.

    Thanks everyone.
@Kirrr - no keep your arm, they are taking many arms already :D I m actually looking for a decent laptop, who hasn't got contract with Foxconn.
I mailed MSI and I've been told that MSI has its own factory in China. That's why I m asking about MSI.

Well I do a cheapy MSI laptop that I use on the go. MSI A6200. Is decent for the price I paid for 9around $350 when I got it on sale last year).

Didn't expect too much from it. Keyboard is pretty confortable but the screen is horrible. The color seems so wash out and viewing angle is bad. Track pack is right under the space bar so sometimes I might hit it which is annoying.

However, for the price I paid I think is decent. Not sure about their higher end model though. I was recently in the market for a gaming laptop since I travel a lot. Was considering MSI but due to the experience I have with them now I decided not to go with them. I did heard good things about MSI from other ppl.

I also own a MSI GTX460 video card and it pretty good.

EDIT. One one thing I really like this laptop is the place of the Power connector (at the back of the laptop so it doesn't not get in the way), placement of USB ports, VGA AND HDMI. Also the function keys are clearly label and easy to tell what icons does what. Not too much bloatware and DVD ROM eject button is easy to press. Style isn't too bad either.

    Thanks all appreciated.

So in short, from what I understand; "you'll get you paid for, but don't expect a highend or top quality product." ?
