    Hello!
I'm new to this forum - so Hello Everybody!
I have a question - I see that this laptop (or rather - smaller version - GX640) is upgradeable to GTX 680M/K5000M.
Is this upgrade going by plug'n'play ? Or I should modified/load in other Vbios or BIOS ?
Also I want upgrade to i7 920XM (I have it now), so is the 180W wall brick would be enough for OC to 2,6Ghz i7 and stock clocks for 680M?
Is there any other options to upgrade this notebook. Because I have an access to GTX 880M, and not so to 680M/K5000M. All cards are from Dell.
Are newer Radeons also work here? Like 7970M also from Dell.
    Or 8970M from Clevo ?

This upgrade is not warranted by MSI on a GX740 therefore it's really difficult to say if it would work or not. Most likely it may not work because of compatibility concern, especially it's from a different brand other than MSI itself.

    - CPU and GPU overheating problem (poor cooling)
    - cost/profit ratio
    - blind flash for clevo 7970m(perhaps 8970m reguires also)
    - 180/240W psu

gtx880m in gx740? Ouh boy... [IMG]

Ok. So I will have 680M/K5000M probably.
Cost/ratio ? Rather it's much cheaper option than even MSI GT683, which can't nvidia kepler cards (don't know why).

680M uses 100W TDP but the NB comes with 150W AC adapter.
The CPU can also be the bottleneck.

Dell K3100M and dell 765M compatible with GX. Next step is to find if 970M/980M, would be (I am 90% sure that it will).
Only if it was in reasonable price (~300 Euro), I would buy it. Or maybe, someone has it to test (in Europe)?
