    Hey guys,

I am planning on selling my GX660R and I need some advice. I bought it 3 years ago for about £1,500, so how much do you think would be reasonable now to pay for it?

    Thanks in advance!

If it's a stock system I wouldn't say its worth more than $400. That might even be stretching it. I GX660 (Had a 1080p LG display) with a 920XM OEM, Dell OEM 7970m, and 12gb of ram, regular 7200rpm HD for $800ish about a year ago. I probably could have gotten a bit more but whatever, I wanted a quick sale.

If you're still rocking a 720/740qm and 5870m, then that is quite old and you won't be able to get much out of it. Also the overall system condition will def. make a difference. Can you post a couple pictures of it maybe?

Hey, so sorry for not responding sooner, I've been pretty swamped these weeks! Well, as far as the condition, it's fine but with a few minor faults and imperfections. For instance, the bottom corners of the screen will crack open a little bit when you touch the screen to adjust the angle. Also you can see on the pictures that the touchpad is word out. There are some small scratches on the back of the screen. But the major fault I'd say is the cd-rom - it's not working. I men it ejects, it doesn't read cds. So that pretty much sums it up. What do you guy think?

Slap a 770m in it and keep it.

My days of gaming are over, Meaker. I need something portable and I'd rather sell it. Am I the only who thinks it's crazy to sell a laptop for $300/$400 that you originally bought for more than $2000?

Yes since computers are well known to depreciate quickly. It's standard business to write off computers as a company asset after 3 years and the gx660 is three generations old.

Not a problem, the march of technology is the cause as a notebook with the same power as yours can be had in a smaller package, with similar battery life at a lower cost these days, this is always true a few years down the line making an older machine unattractive.
