    MSI GX640 cannot start up without battery? (plug in ac adapter)

    just bought few days only, i noticed that my laptop cannot start up if unplug the battery while the ac adapter plug in .........
    If plug in ac adapter and battery then only can start up.....

    I wonder MSI GX640 must plug in battery then only can work? :confused: :confused: :confused:

    i discover while the battery in charging, the gaming performance also drop :confused: :confused:

    if only can unplug the battery and just use AC power supply :( :( :(

    probably somethings wrong with ur laptop. cuz u can start without battery with ac adapter plugged in. and performance dont drop when charging

    Sounds like you need a better power supply or you need to return the system.

    You could get a targus 180W universal power supply pretty cheap on ebay, that should be more than enough. But that's only if your problem is due to the power supply.

    19v / 3.42A = 65w

    i wonder this power can support? :( :( :(

    65w is too low. Need 120W or higher I think.

    If your current power supply is 65W, that is probably causing your problems.

    19V/6.3A is the minimum for the MSI gamer series.

    I use my GX640 without battery without any problems.

    You should reclaim "proper" 120W AC adapter.

    Must be a mistake, if you contact them I bet you will get the correct ac adapter for free.
