Yes the CPU can be upgraded to a Intel Extreme X7800 or X7900, but the GPU can not be upgraded. I hope this helps. God Bless :)

the cpu can be upgraded. I believe the bios does have support for the extreme processors from Intel. I believe the X9000 will work, so the T9300, T9500 are all capable upgrades.
This is the system which has the overclocking buttons right?

I am not sure if the gpu can be upgraded, usually they cannot be, but I think your laptop has the mxm interface.

What is the cpu and gpu you currently have?

Sorry the X9000 will not work, ask me how I know :D The X7800 and the X7900 CPU's will work. GPU is soldered to the motherboard. God Bless :)

sadly, the GPU is soldered (8600M GT ddr2)... i could still take it off...but could i fit another card here..? would a 9M series fit..?

    thanks again folks
