    Hi,

    My ZT 'gaming laptop' of yesteryear has the fan dying by getting incredibly loud and whiny after a while, with a grinding sound. It is basically a MSI Gx600.

    I'm looking for a replacement fan for it, but ebay is not turning up any proper results. Any idea where I can get it from? I cant even use the laptop for more than 30 mins.

    thanks!

    Gx600 != Gx660

    Have you checked if the fan is removable from the heatsink itself? The EX600 heatsink is similar and from what I can see the fan looks like it is screwed in. You could try searching for the fan itself rather than the heatsink.

    The parts we sell are Genuine msi, most on ebay are not. They are "compatible" parts. Our part pricing is actually much lower than any other company you see offering "Genuine" MSI parts and components. We have seen a few companies offering parts at a lower price but if you try to order the part they never have stock.

    Thanks for the replies. It is true that I need only the fan, and would be happy just to get a fan for it, as the rest of the components are in great condition.

    Thanks for the input rob, and had I the money, I would have preferred genuine parts but this laptop is old now and I really cannot put in that kind of cash to keep it alive.

    Anyways, if anyone can help me find a solution or suggest ways to fix the existing fan I would be very grateful.

    I guess you could say "most" going from all the batteries and LCDs... but no one has non genuine MSI palmrests, heatsinks, motherboards etc some of which are on Ebay.

    As for fans they're still kind of middle ground, but whose to say what OEM really is? For example the Dell m1530 came interchangeably with Sunon and Forcecon fans on the same heatsink. I haven't seen the cheap fan companies like TUV mastering the art of 'laptop replacement' parts.
