    hey guys,

I was installing the new catalyst driver on my new laptop and suddenly it just turned off on its own. When I turned it back on, it wouldn't boot properly and I used the F3 Recovery function and was in the process of recovery. However around the 80% mark, the computer just turned off again for no reason. Now I can log into windows, but a lot of the components and files are missing and it doesn't look right. I tried the F3 recovery option again, but after I press the button to initiate this feature, I just get stuck at some blue screen, probably due to the actual recovery files being missing due to the abrupt shut down I mentioned earlier. Is there anything I can do? or will I have to contact Gentech and send it back for repair?

Can you boot into Safe Mode and remove the driver in question? If not, and you can't perform the recovery, You can try using a Live CD (Linux, Min Windows, etc.) to boot from, and try navigating to the folder on the disk where the driver is, and see if you can delete the files related to the driver.

Test your hard drive and RAM, just to be sure it's not a hardware problem too; you can use DOS based programs to test either one (such as HDAT2 for the hard drive, and MemTest86+ for your memory).

If no avail, then yes; contact your reseller if it's under their return policy. Otherwise, you may need to contact the manufacturer for RMA warranty service.
