Greetings everyone, I hope some of you have been in my situation and would help with some advice from you.

Basically I want to do a GPU upgrade for my lapptop, MSI GX640. I han't done anything like that before and my experience in this area is close to nil. So I would like to ask knowledgeable members for advice.

Nvidia 670MX or 770M. This is probably my #1 choice to go. Somebody reported a successful upgrade with 670mx. What I am not sure is what exactly card model should I buy, there are several vendors sell use cards from different laptops, alienware, msi, and probably clevo.
Do you know, are there any problems with flashing bios of one vendor with video card of another.
Which vendor do you think will work best with msi?

Your safest bet is to go with a MSI card. I don't know whether any other producers of the card will work or not in a MSI machine, with or without a vBIOS flash.
