So i got a GT80 today, but the previous owner did a clean install of windows 10, and after a windows update in the middle of a geforce drivers update, the numberpad function stopped working. Looking around ive found suggestions to reinstall with the one provided on the MSI website, however that didnt work. Another thread mentioned reinstalling with the disc drivers as the ones on the MSI website are broken too. I cant find any earlier drivers on their website, nor did the previous owner include the disc. Does anyone happen to have a disc they could upload the original driver from? or a link to where one exists?

"Broken"? Which version did you try installing (and for which version of Windows)?

Don't use earlier drivers, use the latest ones. I run win10 and my numpad works. Be sure to enable Tap to click on the taskbar icon (for some reason, mine started working that way).

Tried using the latest windows 10 driver (the only windows 10 one on their site), and enabled tap to click. It doesn't come on.

When I get home I will check which driver version I have. You should try looking for the software package directly.

Which version did you try installing from the MSI website?

    Driver version

    19.0.22.0

Also is off topic but having an occasional but frequent single (big) microstutter in every game ive played so far, is this normal? I found a thread mentioning reverting to 8.1 fixed it but idk if i have that option.

I am using, and properly working in windows 10, Synaptics pointing device - v 19.0.22.20Aug15.

You should update your BIOS to the latest version, same for EC firmware, for your GT80. There have been great improvements and fixes down the line that were necessary to avoid issues with sleep/hibernation and some crashes with nvidia drivers.

Also, use the latest Killer Wifi driver suit, it fixed a stutter problem with online games.

Found a fix for the numpad but every time the laptop crashes or windows updates it goes back to not working until uninstalling and reinstalling the software (windows doesnt give me a chance to hide the update either =\) I'll be sure to try the BIOS and firmware updates though. And've already installed the new killer ethernet drivers (no software suite though, i heard that causes issues?) but my GT80 has an intel WiFi card.

Oh then forget the killer suite, if you have intel wifi that is an entirely different issue. A lot of people have experienced connectivity issues with the newest intel wifi cards, maybe you can tweak the hardware settings in device manager to see if it helps.

As for the numpad issue, that is so weird, but then again windows is not very good either. I thankfully have not experienced any issue with my touchpad and I hope it remains that way. Windows also does not update it so I am good in that regard. I also got sound blaster working on win10 with old drivers and I plan on keeping it that way. I don't like nahimic :)

This was happening to me frequently but I think it was a driver update that finally stabilized my numpad. I was almost ok with it though since using it as a numpad was so infrequent.

Im gonna have to make a macro to run the driver install and uninstall applications.. 9 blackscreen crashes in FF14 in 2 days, some of them within 10min of eachother >< and each one breaks the numberpad.
