    Hey guys...looking for some advise:

I'm configuring a GTX780DX-406US for purchase next month. I'm looking to run an SSD as my primary and a standard mech HDD as my secondary.

Never had a SSD before so I was curious what the minimum size I should be looking at...I don't have an endless budget, so I was looking for the smallest size I can get away with and still get all the benefits of the SSD set up.

Also...does MSI ever run deals like the one Sager is running now..."$100 off is you spend $XXX.00"?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    K.C.

Discounts are rare. Get a 128gb ssd minimum.

Personally, I stay away from OCZ. I like Crucial - Newegg's having a sale on their 128 GB M4 (72 HR SALE)

I do not like OCZ. Intel and Crucial SSD do not have any problem with laptops in early age.

Intel and Samsung have stellar reputations...Crucial is good too...I have a Samsung 830 256GB and am very happy with it so far...very fast! Although I had a Patriot Wildfire before this and that was ridiculously fast as well! For long term proven reliability though..I would probably stick to Samsung or Intel.....keep checking Amazon and Newegg...they have been running great deals lately...good luck!

If you don't want a SandForce 2281 SATA III SSD then I suggest you look at a Crucial Performance Pro that sports the newest Marvel controller.

OCZ will be using their own Indilunx Everest 2 controller in their Vertex 4 SSDs that are due in June. They bought Indilunx last year.
