Must be their 65/75W card. I'm very curious how performance scales with TDP with Fermi.
-
Dual fan or single fan?
-
No pics of the back yet but if it's going to get an SLI config there should be at least two.
At that point though three would be better. -
Interesting, their GT760 has max 12GB memory, so triple channel? Also, some new unknown nVidia cards in:
MSI FX700 (17.3, an unidentified next-generation GeForce GPU)
Asus N43 (14", an unidentified next-generation GeForce GPU)
Though the FX700 is speculated to be GTX 460M as well, though a low end Fermi for the 14" would be very interesting (unless still using old architecture). -

Interesting, another Fermi part.
-
Maybe sorta.
If it's not a rebrand I'd expect it to be a GF108 GPU which might not be fully Fermi. -
This is a nice time to be shopping for a new machine. There's so many options coming.
I'll just wait and see who's coming out on top. The GT760 having Optimus is a nice bullet point. -
Awesome find phin, so maybe MSI are going along another route now?
-
-
Hmm yeah multifan is a must (Unless there...well its stupid but what about harboring a single fan design with a much larger fan?)
Mind you they gota think about shock resistance and movement so thats a definate no haha.
The screen res, i dont know haha im such a fan of smaller res these days that i'm actually not fussed what they go with, aslong as it doesnt look stretched or completely daft, but then again, if you have got all that GPU power behind the machine, then a high density display is a must.
They better do this right, because alot of people are waiting for something that isn't a clevo/alienware 17" briefcase haha. (Jokes)
What are the odds of this being the lightest crossfire book around?.
-
-
It definitely looks like it could hold cooling for dual GPUs. -
Ooooh aye, definately thick enough, im actually really liking the look of the machine.
-
Anyone who doesn't competitive hardware on the market by then is out of luck.
Oh, how easily Q4 could turn into Q1, then Q2, then.... -
They redesigned the keyboard and added all those fancy lights to the chassis, yet the keyboard itself is not backlit!?

96 Cores

1Gb DDR3 on a 128bit bus -
my possible next lappy in conjuntion with hp envy 17
-
Those are pretty impressive specs for the mainstream chip. I wonder how far below 50W it is.
-
Too bad I'm not looking for a 17" laptop, but if it does have a chance with 460m GTX's in SLI well that changes everything.
I would love to see a 460m GTX in a MSI GT660 -
I might get the GT760.... but I wonder how much it weights..... the GT660 is already 3.5Kg.
-
...but maybe she's bionic. -
She doesn't look very happy about it.
We need more pics of booth girls holding notebooks to estimate the weight, not just this one.
BTW, I'm Interested! -
anyway, she's leaning back pretty far. That's not a good sign. Judging by the fact that she's probably doing that subconsciously (no angular correction by abdominal / back muscles)... I'd say we can calculate the the mass of the notebook:
- treat the notebook as a point mass;
- estimate the location and value of center of mass of her upper torso above the rotation point
- estimate the angle between the normal and her upper torso
... or we can just accept that the thing weighs more than a truck and leave it at that. The GT660 is 3.5kg, and this looks about as thick as that. I'm putting my guess on 4.5kg, or 10lb. -
woah...you just blew my mind...need an aspirin
-
Is it me or does the base of the GT760 in the photo, look THICK as hell? And 4.5Kg is heavy stuff lol, less than weight lifts, but pretty heavy as it is.
-
Well lets not forget that she looks like she weighs in the neighborhood of 90lbs. So you imagine trying to extend out infront of your body something that weighs more then 1/10th your total weight lol. -
That looks like the size of an SLI machine. The base is really thick.
-
this might be my next laptop
my current considerations are
Asus N71Ja/Jq (i prefer a 5750 gddr5 caliber card but its not out)
HP envy 17 ( gc a bit more powerful for me)
Vaio EC (hopefully they release in US with a 5730/5750 gddr5)
Toshiba Qosmio 18.4 inch refresh with G4xx series probable gts 450m/gts 460m/gtx 460m (I prefer card of this caliber)
MSI gt 760 really like the buid but it looks fat hopefully gtx 460m will beat 5850 mobility -
Its gota be an SLI machine, i'd say the cooling system the cause of that after seing the 1722 chasis/alterations at its full limits and possibly alot of space devoted to dynaudio's laptop drivers.
I really am liking the change that MSI has introduced though, but for the minute, while it does look like a beast, i either see twin 285's, twin 5870 (Maybe even 50?) or a single GTX 4**,
But then i suppose power draw on the fermi part is going to be pretty big, if its built for twin fermi then MSI must be really confident in the cooling.
Personally i'd settle for twin 5850. -
any release dates? hopefully by christmas maybe??
-
Twin Blackcombs.
Well next year anyway...maybe with a Llano so that there's a better chance it all works homogeneously. -
This could be what the GTX 460M will look like for the GT760:
-
A couple of more images that show the GT760's thickness. I'm also of the opinion that the system shown at Computex was a pre-production model and there should be some changes still to come to the chassis.
For one I can't see an ODD on either side of the machine...or a side vent like the GT660 has. If it is a pre-prod model I'm hoping the final build gets the indicator lights relocated onto the touchpad frame like the on GT660, and the headphone and mic jacks get moved from the front to the sides.

192bit 192 cores nice the desktop version of this card is goiing against 5750 so will card beat mobility 5850??
lambogini vx7 confirm getting a gtx 460m?? -
Possibly, but if MSI haven't completely redone the internals i wont be happy.
Fairly high clock rate, 2gb oncard memory..wow lol, what would one use all that for? -
It's 1.5Gb on card. Something with the 192-bit bus requires VRAM to be either 768Mb or 1.5Gb totals instead of in 512Mb or 1Gb allocations.
-
Oh aye, forgot that windows sometimes sifts memory to GPU, hmmm wonder what kind of performance it'l have.
-
i really hope its on par with mobility 5800 series and tdp also 50w max
for desktop parts the speculations
gtx 460 192bit gddr5 256 sp gf 104 core tdp 180w against desktop 5770
gts 450 192 bit gddr5 192 sp hopefully tdp 150w?? ''' ''' 5750
gt 440/445 128 bit?? gdd5/gddr3 128sp tdp 100w/75w against 5670/5570 desktops
the rest lower ends i dont care
so the upcoming gts 450 might be gtx 460m if it desktop tdp is 130w to 150w compared desktop 5750 tdp 89w i really hope the laptop gtx 460m is 50w max though i dont know how it can be done by such good clockspeeds of 675/1250/1350?? -
Its not going to have a tdp as low as that, im certain of it, the 5850 was only meant to have a tdp of like 39 and it cooks waaaay hotter then the 4850's in the 725 (Granted size factor comes into effect.)
-
Considering the GTX260M was like 70W...
50W for a GTX460M is not likely. -
damn then gtx 460m not for me i will focus on envy 17 or qosmio with a gts 450m if it comes
-
There's been no new info since Computex but bumping so a new thread doesn't get started to rehash all the same stuff.
-
so no release dates i think its because nvidia holding it they want to release thir dx11 desktop gpus first then the mobile lineups
-
well i am really blown away by desktop gtx 460
if the next cards which will be gts 440/450 that will take on 5700 series desktop and beats them i think gtx 460m is their mobile downclocked counterpart i think
gtx 460m will beat mobility 5870 by at least 5%
mobility 5870 = desktop 5750 (a bit bit downer perf maybe)
gts 440 beats desktop 5750 so its mobile part beats mobility 5870
i really dont get why nvidia didnt release gtx 460 desktop as a mobile gtx 480m? desktop gtx 460 1gb beats desktop gtx 465 tdp is 160w so even if nvidia downclocked the gtx 460 desktop as a mobile gtx 480m its tdp would have 80w to 85w max plus it would have beaten the current gtx 480m with 100w tdp gf100 core with gf 104 core -
there is 1 assumption gt660 has gtx 285m so gt 760 has to have a card faster than gtx 285m right so gtx 460 might be 5% slower than 5870m or 5% faster even who knows
-
is this thing ever going to come out or what??? jesus, it seems this lappy, and new refresh of the ASUS G73 are the two biggest kept secrets in the world right about now.
