Hi guys.
Now, in my country, the MSI GT73VR is in promotion.
It is the MSI GT73VR 6RE with 256GB and 16Gb of ram, 120Hz, I7 6820HK and gtx 1070 at 2200€.
I´ve been a long looking for a gaming laptop. My doubt is, should i go for this, or wait for the new cpy kaby lake?
The I7 6820Hk it is a cpu? Worth the waiting?
Thanks

Id go with probably not, I think the cpu market is kind of stagnating, they can improve things like size and power but it doesnt look like much else had changed.
You can wait if you want the latest technology, but I dont think there is much improvement, nothing like we have with gpus from 980 to 1080.
But its just my opinion.DukeCLR likes this. -
If the laptop has reached a target pricepoint I would suggest purchasing. That's what I just did. There is a thread about Kaby Lake coming: http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/msi-gt73vr-with-kaby-lake.799214/
The consensus is that Kaby Lake isn't going to be worth the wait, the performance difference is a very slight clock boost which you may achieve with OCing. Further more we have no idea when Kaby Lake will become available in this laptop, usually once a CPU is to market there is a delay in availability to laptops from my experience. Back when I ordered an Ivy Bridge laptop after orders were already being taken for them I had a 2 month delay due to limited availability.Last edited: Dec 16, 2016Neo79 likes this. -

Out of the box performance will be similar to skylake, improvements would probably come from over clocking and power efficiency. Kaby is more of a skylake refresh with additional chipset features and support.

Kaby Lake is literally only going to net you a few more tenths of a Mhz, over Skylake. It doesn't bring any improvement that warrants waiting another 4-5 months to get it.
