Thank you for this, very informative. It was also suggested to me that I use this guide here: https://www.win-raid.com/t4175f16-GUIDE-Flash-BIOS-with-CH-A-programmer.html for fixing such issues in the future. Is what you are suggesting of a similar method or is it something with difference purpose?

The laptop was sent for repair and I am still trying to organize around this issue before I start getting into reading and understanding such technical guides as I admittedly lack the required knowledge for such matters.

    Hello,
on the beginning of this thread, i noticed about:
"2.2 - CREATING BOOTABLE PENDRIVE WITH RU"

Is it possibel, that this - the usage of this tool is ONLY for:
    EFI / UEFI ?????
Therefore, even ONLY for x64 systems?
Because, i ma NOT able, to run this tool form USB.

Is there a way - a tool - to do the same on legacy BIOS ?

    Regards

    Hi,

No - I don't have a notebook with UEFI support.

Does that mean, that i can't use this tool ?

Hello guys, I have a gt73vr 6re and I installed 128GB RAM (4x32GB). When I enter bios it recognizes correctly all 4 sticks with 32GB but when I enter windows on system information it says 128GB (64GB usable). So only half ram is usable. Is this a limitation from BIOS? is there anything that can be done through the unlocking/modding ?
    thanks

i thought that gt73vr has option only up to 64gb ram I dt think that 128gb will be working. But idea to put 128gb is interesting. :vbcool:

Exactly, specced at DDR4, 4 Slots, Max 64GB. Only from GT76 9th and up 128 GB.

So there is no way through bios modding to unlock this limit? It is strange because BIOS recognizes all four 32GB sticks. Only inside the operating system it says 64GB usable.

Once you go to the large one you need to page down (i forgot if its control page down or not) through all the HEXADECIMAL OFFSETS on the left, until you get to the PROPER HEXADECIMAL OFFSET FOR BIOS LOCK.. Example: if yours was 0x8AA , then you would look for 08AA (leading zeros are basically placeholers.

men, i see the 0x8AA on the txt on windows but i can see the variable on the RU software, can't understand what is happening, looking everywhere for the variable but i can't see it

vdd is fully locked .,in EC think exist similar limit for SA domain
this not help ,.,.,.only lost stability --faster shutdown in heavy load

    edit
how much do you want ram speed ??
    for 7820hk -- real 2800mhz max
or 2933 - my limit for OEM dual channel 16gb 2x "normal ram"

this look good .,,.but CPU / ram --better only in benchmark .,but real cpu memory bandwidth --2800 mem

better way .,,.try MSI forum @Svet --for unlock XMP --1.35V from this create custom OC ?
but any raising for ram -- less space for OC on CPU

edit 100w / 1.265V high current is max for 7820Hk
AVX 2 --best stress for this

    112A -max

    edit
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/need-help-overclocking-the-msi-gt75vr-7rf.831641/
this is similar for all 7820HK and ram SA autotune is my bench
    18-20-20-45 ,.,.2800 long time stable

im not any interested in make OC to the CPU, is better to keep the normal frecuencies for a longer life, Ram is different, i wanna reach 3.600mhz but this FAQ dons't works i think i will do it by hardware, i can't see the variables on the RU, this is a FAKE guide men, this memory is great i think, 3100mhz only with 1200mV, when i brake the voltage barrier this will run like hell
