Well it's up to you wether you need it to travel around or just stay at home if you will not travel around and have place for desktop in ure home then go with desktop other than that it's really good machine it can play any game you want with high refresh rate if you'll connect it with monitor with high refresh rate but by its screen maximum 60 FPS.

Only a few games are optimize for SLI setup: https://www.geforce.com/games-applications/technology/sli

The dual GTX 1070 is almost on par with the single GTX 1080 (skip around 5:00):

Also those SLI setup laptop have dual power bricks and each is 3 lbs. I'm not sure if you want to carry that around with you.

    4K on a 17" TN panel is just meh. You will benefit more on a faster display e.g 120Hz 5ms + G-Sync.

The bottom line is 4K + SLI seems like a bad pair atm.

Non 4k does make more sense to me so i might buy it. It's not showing huge difference in performance. Thank you for helping me

IPS-Level not true IPS so it still sucks. I'm not sure about the hype of 4K TN panel on laptops but they sure are not worth it. I'm telling you that a 120Hz 5ms + G-Sync is a huge upgrade when it comes to laptop display.

Also with SLI config it will always suffers from micro stuttering which is kind of annoying: https://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-GTX-1070-SLI-Laptop.178633.0.html this happens all the time with my GT80S 980M SLI that is why I'm tossing it out the Window.
