    Hi Djadit,

Advantages I have seen as a owner of a gt72vr with i7 6700hq cpu and gtx 1060 gpu:

    6 usb 3.0 ports!

Not as bulky as some people say, less bulky than gt73vr i believe

    Optical drive (dvd)

Good cooling system and rear vents (no side vents)

A usb 3.1 port (not thunderbolt)

4 audio ports headphone, mic, line in, line out

    Nice speakers with subwoofer

    Good build quality

    dedicated screen off button :)

    optional 120 hz screen

GT72VR has only one M.2 drive slot, and one 3.5" HDD/SSD slot. The optical drive slot can be used for a second HDD/SSD.
However that is for the 7700HQ versions.

I do not know about the GT72VR that comes with the 6700HQ, but the GT62VR has three M.2/PCIE drive slots, that I think use an adapter and an auxiliary power connector for them. However I do not know if that model comes with a Pascal 1000 series GPU, or the maxwell 900 series GPU. You will have to do your research on that.

Coming from an MSI gt72 (first gen) :

I confirm the gt72vr is really really less bulky than the gt73vr!

Cooling is really less performant than on the gt73vr.

I prefer the sound of the MSI gt72vr. The speakers are far way better positionned on gt72.

The gt72 is a good beast and is a laptop. The gt73vr is a desktop replacement. Better than a lot of desktop but it has a price and a weight..

Does your version of the GT72VR have the three M2 slots or the M.2 slot adapter (aka the "Good" version?)
