Hi all, I took apart the LCD assembly and found the following

LCD is a LTN170CT02 or a LTN170WU-L02-V/E (this one is etched in the front top left corner of the LCD)

It has 4 screw holes on the right, top and left side. It does not have any bracket weld on.

Looks to have only 1 lamp and those 1 inverter. It also uses a 30 pin data connection.

Anyone which LCD is compatible? Also, if I upgrade to a brighter LCD, would I need to replace my inverter to a stronger one? Any help is appreciated. Thank you

btw, the bezel is very easily crackable unlike some other laptop that I have work with, I cracked mine in two spots =(

Hey mcbarnet, i know that some of the Samsung screens are compatible, (although some of the american 725 have reported screen bleeding in some cases.)

you can use the lg lp171wu3 model. make sure to verify it has no brackets. even if it does they are easily removed with a very small screwdriver and a small bit of prying. i do this often with the lg's and it does not damage the screen as long as you are careful

not to bad IF you dont break the bezel. the msi trim bezel is very hard to get off and very fragile they tend to break easy otherwise very easy
