    Hi all,

I just purchased a new MSI GT725 with the p9500 processor. I decided to install Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit to take advantage of all the RAM when gaming however I have noted that the start up time takes nearly 6 minutes. Is this normal? Is it the GT725 or is it the OS I'm using?

no not normal i have seen this a few times on the msi systems and have recc to those here on the boards with this issue to simply do another fresh install and it seems to fix the issue. not sure why but it worked for me and many others i have suggested it to. make sure to install all the current drivers do a check online instead of just using the ones off the disc.

install major drivers by themselves. and reboot. not sure why but the msi's seem more picky about how they are installed. dont just install them all and pick reboot later. i have had issues that way with my 1722. it judt didnt like it for some reason and i tried it a few times.

    Hi all,

Just thought I would let you know that I did the reinstall as suggested and that the start up time is back to something more acceptable. Down from nearly 6 minutes to about 40 seconds... lol. Happy days :)

    Thanks again,
    Speed.
