Hi my video card stop working. I'm having a hard time find one to replace it. I know laptops are different than pcs. Like the video cards on ebay have a different set of pins then my video card and not sure what to get. If someone can please help me figure it. I would appreciate it a lot.

What video card was it, exactly? That's the first step in helping.

    Hi knivesm64,

i also had the GT725 and the same problem.

Got in in 2009 and it worked really well until last year in November i got some graphical / visual glitches (green blocks and lines on the screen) etc.

I tried everything (cleaning the notebook, even baking the graphics card) nothing helped. I guess there is some kind of memory defect.
Dont get me wrong, the Notebook was still working in office mode (games got you a BSOD) but because of the visual glitches it was really annoying to use it.

Well i found one ebay seller in germany (thats where i live) who sold a 4850m mxm 2.1 module but the price was really high (around 450 $). And it was also used, so no real warranty that it would last the next years.
So i decided to buy a completely new notebook (GT725 was to slow for modern games anyway).

I loved the GT725, it served me very well for 5 years. :)
Now i got the GT72 and i am also very happy with it.

So think about if it is really worth buying a used 4850m card (i doubt that you will get a new one anywhere).

For $450, it's too much for very outdated technology (5 years ago), it may be better to switch to the latest and greatest by paying more sometimes and not to mention there's no warranty for it.

Is your System not running at all? Does it boot?
I could use my GT725 with the faulty graphics card when uninstalling ati drivers (using standard Microsoft drivers) and lowering the resolution (something like 1024x768 16bit).
It was not nice (visual glitches all over the screen) but u could do basic things like office, websurfing etc. :)
With ati drivers there was always a BSOD when loading windows.

Be aware that you might need a specific heatsink when buying another MXM card.
