    Hi
I hade a problem like many others with my battery that did not charge and went out after 1 minute even if it said 85% charged. I tried to reset battery using a binders into the whole underneath the PC (see manual about reset battery). I tried everything posted on net and nothing worked. I finally managed to fix the problem:
Start your laptop with EC connected.
remove the cable and use the laptop until the computer dies. It just goes black after some minutes.
Do not open critical documents or run important programs since the computer will die without warning.
Repeat this process until the battery is empty: connect cable, start machine, disconnect cable and use laptop until dying.
Every time the battery will go down some %.
You may have to do this 20-30 times before you have reached 0%.
    When you reach 0% charging:
    turn of the computer. Disconnect.
Use a binders to reset the battery in the pinhole underneath. (see manual how to do this on your laptop).
Connect cable and use until fully charged. Now you should be able to use the laptop as normal.

After this I have managed to use the laptop as in the 'old days'.
I think it is a good idea to run the laptop to 0% battery some times. If you are always on top charge, things seem to go nuts after some time (years).

Hope this works for you to.

    This completely fixed the battery?
How long does the battery last (From 100%) after this?

What is the "Wear level" of the battery, shown in "BatteryInfoView" program?

A very good question that I was about to answer before you asked...
I could work with the battery for one hour. Quite sure that the battery is not top anymore. The orange lamp does not blink anymore and I can work longer that 2 minutes, so it was beneficial. My laptop is three years old and I assume the battery is reduced by now.
Is BatteryInfoView a safe software to download?
Do you have any idea how long one should expect a battery to function?

It's a recommended program by everyone. It shows more information than HWinfo64 (I think HWInfo64 can also show extended battery information though if you are not looking at the sensor only area)

    BatteryInfoView listing:
    Description Value
    Battery Name BTY-M6D
    Manufacture Name MSI
    Serial Number
    Manufacture Date
    Power State AC Power
    Current Capacity (in %) 100.0%
Current Capacity Value 56 810 mWh
Full Charged Capacity 56 810 mWh
    Designed Capacity 86 580 mWh
    Battery Health 65.6%
    Voltage 12 493 millivolts
    Charge/Discharge Rate 0 milliwatts
    Chemistry Lithium Ion
    Low Battery Capacity (1)
    Low Battery Capacity (2)
    Critical Bias
    Number of charge/discharge cycles 0
    Battery Temperature
Remaining battery time for the current activity (Estimated)
Full battery time for the current activity (Estimated)
Remaining time for charging the battery (Estimated)
Total time for charging the battery (Estimated)

I guess that 66% Battery Health means that I can use it for some time.
At least the orange lamp is not blinking anymore.

56810/86580 = 65.6%, which means your battery's wear level is at 34.4%. Please note that MSI offers 1-year warranty on the battery so if you experience issues with battery then it's recommended to utilize that warranty. You shouldn't have to do this kind of "fix" to fix the issue.

    Hi
The battery is three years old so I assume the lifetime of the battery is close to its end. At least I got rid of my orange blinking lamp which is annoying...
And I can use the laptop for one hour or a little less on battery.

I see, battery typically can hold good charges until 500 cycles later.
