    Hello guys,

I can call myself a proud member of the Dragons Clan now but I am currently experiencing some issues with my small lizard here at the moment.

I did a fresh install of Windows 8.1 with all the updates/patches and while everything works pretty good, I just can't install the onboard graphics drivers for the HD 4600 of the I7 4710HQ. It also doesn't appear in the device manager and there arent any options in the BIOS to "activate" it.

I updated BIOS and EC Firmware from the MSI website, I also uninstalled the nVidia drivers and scanned with windows update (still no detection).

What am I doing wrong? Should I just reinstall windows? Oh and just in case you ask, I didn't bother with the bloated preinstalled OS, I instantly did a fresh install.

Any help is greatly appreciated! ;)

According to what I can tell, you may need to activate the GPU switch button located under the power button and then restart the computer before you can install the Intel GPU drivers.

Optimus is not used in the GT72, so the GPU's must be switched manually, and the NVidia GPU is default. Reinstall the NVidia driver package, and check to see if the NVidia GPU shows in the Device Manager. To switch to the Intel IGP, use the GPU button, and you should then see a pop-up instructing you to reboot. Once rebooted, then install the Intel driver package, HERE. Once the Intel driver is installed, check the Device Manager, and you should now see the IGP. To go back to the NVidia GPU, you will again need to use the GPU button, and reboot to switch back.

Glad you managed to fix things, and I have added that link to the lead post of the GT72 and GT80 threads.

    THX!
