I have had my GT72 for some time now, but recently I installed a new internet provider at home and couldn't connect to the internet. I pinpointed the problem to be the bandwidth control, so I deactivated it and regained internet access. I thought that maybe if I updated the KNM to its latest version the problem would go away, but to no avail. I tried to install the driver pack from Killer Networking site, but the wireless driver didn't work, so, at long last I figured a solution to uninstall the KNM without losing the drivers:

    1) Install the new KN suite from http://www.killernetworking.com/support/driver-downloads

    2) After restarting your computer, go to C:\Program Files\Killer Networking\Network Manager and backup folders 1525 and E2200 (for instance, copy them on your desktop)

    3) Run the installer again and choose the "Modify" option

    4) Uncheck Killer Network Manager and Bandwidth Control and then click Install

    5) Your Wi-Fi adapter will disable now, so go to the Device Manager and check Network Adapters, you'll see Killer Wireless (...) with a yellow exclamation mark, right click and choose Properties, then click on the Driver tab and then on Update Driver. Select "Browse my computer..." and pick the previously backed up folder.

    6) Your Wi-Fi adapter will work again!, now you don't have to uncheck the bandwidth control option every time you turn on your computer.

I hope this little guide helps and saves some time!
    Cheers!

Yeah it seems the Killer software produces more issues than performance at times. I have experienced issues in very specific games, resulting in random stuttery/lag, that went away by closing the software itself.

It seems that for now, unless you use any specific function of the killer software, uninstalling the software itself is the best course to go.

They have a driver only version on that site now. Am going to give it a go.

Yup, you can try that if you encounter issues with software suite.
