Hi guys, didn't find a thread here with this problem.. (atleast not on the first 5 pages in the search page)

So I have 2 problems when doing my regular standby procedure..

    1. Everytime I press the power button or go to sleep/standby/hibernate the computer pretty much always turns on again after 3-10 seconds as if I had pressed anything
now I've tried unplugging all of the USB cords and ending pretty much every program there is but doesn't seem to make a difference :(

    2. I like to take the computer to work sometimes and the ride there is around an hour in a car/bus so if I put my computer to sleep in the morning it's around 2 hours untill I turn it on again at work
When I turn it on it's around 90% chance the computer has crashed and while I know nothing about Windows 8 I can't seem to know what's causing the problem (can't find the computer error that causes the crash)
and the Don't send / send error pop up comes with no information except saying my computer crashed....

I have a SSD 256, 16 gb ram and all the specs the 0NC-494 gives

Any thoughts/solutions are well appreciated !!

    Thanks in advance, Oli

This seems to be a prevalent problem, particularly with Windows 8. I think it has something to do with ACPI. Have you tried the EC reset? I feel redundant in recommending that but sometimes it works.

No I haven't tried the EC Recet mainly because I'm afraid I'll destroy the computer ^^,

Aw hahaha you won't destroy anything. All it does is drain the current and refreshes the controller chip.

Well My bad, thought I had to flash the BIOS :p

But I did the EC reset and it doesn't seem to crash the last 3 times and it goes to standby in first try, not second like always ^^,

Seems to be fixed, thank you guys !!!

Alright! Glad to hear it! And you won't brick it by doing that, so if you find you need to do it again in the future, give it a shot.
