Just got the GT70 0ND-202US which have the following specs.:

    Intel® Core™ i7-3610QM Processor
    NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 675M discrete graphics (DDR5 2GB VRAM)
    750GB hard drive (7200rpm)
    12GB DDR3 1600MHz system memory

I checked my windows performance rating and this is what I got:

    Processor: 7.6 (seemes good)
    RAM: 7.6 (seems good)
Graphics: 5.5 (WHAT! seems really low)
Gaming graphics: 6.8 (thought it would be a little higher)
Primary hard disk: 5.9 (was hoping it would be higher)

Is this what others have been getting? The Graphics # seems really low considering having the 675. Whats the difference between "Graphics" and "Gaming Graphics"? My 5 year old Toshibia even got a 5.9 on the Graphics. Thanks for any advice.

Must be Optimus messing around. WEI probably used your integrated GPU, Intel 4000hd for the test. Run 3D Mark Vantage and post your results.

As for hard drive, mechanical drives top out at 5.9. Only SSDs can score higher.

As stated above, the NVIDIA Optimus, that's not a perfect science is not switching the graphics to the GTX675M.

The power button should be orange when the NVIDIA graphics is in use.

The hard drive score of 5.9 is about the limit for the mechanical hard drive.A SATA III SSD of 120GB or larger would probably raise this to 7.9

With 3 x 4GB of memory 2 of the ram modules are running in dual channel mode and the other 4GB module is running in flex mode.Open the bottom of the notebook and add another 4GB module with the same specs as the other 3.

Do people really need Optimus on GAMING notebooks?

    My GT780DX with OCZ V3MI SSD/16GB/GTX570M/i7 2760QM yields a WEI of 7.3

Why would he add RAM? It's running in asymmetric dual channel mode. There is more than enough memory bandwidth available, he isn't bottlenecked by any means. More than 12GB is also a massive overkill.

12GB is overkill for most users.

If you are a graphic artist or work with many Virtual machines, then yes, more RAM is better... however, in almost every other case that money can be better spent elsewhere.

Thanks for the replies. I thought it probably had something to do with the optimus. Here is my 3dmark score. let me know how they look.
