You can buy the Bluray drive. The important thing is that it is a SATA interface and a height of 12.7mm has what is the 5500S as: http://www.sony-optiarc.us/fileadmin/downloads/BC-5500New.pdf

When it arrives, you remove the one screw with the CD icon (see image), then you can pull out your existing drive (open beforehand, then it is easier to pull out). Then remove only the screwing and grow again just as the BluRay drive. Done ...

If you are doing severely damage the warranty seal, it does not matter because MSI does not look on warranty seal, at least not in Europe.

Thank you very much, I'll buy it then and tell my experience when it arrives.

    Again, Thanks.

Before you buy an internal optical drive to fit in your present notebook you should think about an external USB model that can be used with other notebooks and desktops including your next thinner notebook.

I have a 3rd SSD in the internal optical bay inside a caddy and a USB optical drive for the few times I've actually needed an optical drive.

Physical media is basically obsolete as are BD/DVD players and recorders.

Everything these days is delivered digitally.

If buying an internal drive check to see if it is still getting firmware updates and ensure that it is not an OEM branded one (like HP) where you can't use stock firmware.
