I've seen a lot of threads collectively put GT60's and GT70's together and I think it makes it hard to find specific information regarding one specific model, so I took the liberty to create this thread ONLY for GT70 1886 owners.

In this thread we can discuss issues and work arounds.

Currently I'm having an issue with the 7260 intel wireless card giving me some lag in games. Originally I would keep disconnecting and reconnecting and experience severe lag but I seem to have fixed the majority of the issue by disabling the power savings (auto wireless shutoff) feature and disabling the bluetooth. I still experience minor lag that I do not get on my desktop (wireless as well) so it's still odd and I find that there are HUGE reports on the 7260 card having numerous issues all across manufacturers so I don't believe it is an MSI fault.

Another issue I'm having is that the SCROLLING function for the touchpad doesn't work at all. In the synaptics settings and the Dragon Gaming Center settings, every option that lists "scrolling" is grayed out and I cannot adjust or turn it on. My friend who purchased the same computer is also having this issue. If anyone has the same issue please let me know and if you fixed it.

    Thanks ya'll!

Here's my temperatures from just installing titanfall. It reached 90, but I took a screenshot when it dipped back down reading 89.

    That's pretty high.
Have you done any repasting at all?

There are some users who are having connectivity issues with Intel 7260.
What's the version of driver you are using currently?
What's the name of router that you have?

    hi Kevin,
Haven't done a repaste. I haven't taken anything apart. The wireless driver is the newest one from Intel released in middle of July 2014 and router is actoontec c1000.

I've read there are numerous ppl from different manufacturers that have issues with the 7260 which is extremely disappointing.

Any clues what's going on with scrolling? Drivers are up-to-date. Thanks Kevin

This scrolling is driving me crazy, removed the driver and it still doesn't recognize scrolling, and reinstalled with latest drivers and it still doesn't recognize scrolling! I see a couple of people with this issue but no solution. Really odd!!!!

I don't know about the scrolling. My notebook does not have it enable and now that I think about it I have never used it. Perhaps we need a different set of software to enable it? There is also a chance that it is simply not supported hmmm.... Let's see what we can find!

And don't worry about the huge number of models. while there are indeed a lot of models, GTs tend to share most of their specs and technology down to drivers, and only change for a particular hardware change or two. That's why we have huge owner threads haha.

The driver will activate the scrolling for you so make sure it is installed.

I couldn't find any information at all, but does anyone know if this comes with an MSATA? When I purchased it it came with the 1TB 7200rpm drive, and an extra slot that I installed and SSD to.

If you are using dual 2.5 inch HDDs then it doesn't come with msata adapter. What happens with msata models is that they use the second bay 2.5 inch and use an adapter that channels 3 msata drives. Let me show you with my machine:

Hey guys, I've had the same laptop for like two weeks now, but after installing Windows 7, I can't get the wireless to work at all, despite installing drivErs from msi and other sources, though the ethernet and Bluetooth seem to work fine. Can anyone help with a working source for the wireless driver? Thanks

I'm not sure of the wireless card, but the ethernet card is killer e2200 gigabits ethernet controller.

Did you order through a reseller? If so you should have got a sec sheet when ordering. If it was from a retail store it would be the killer wireless as well. Qualcomm's site has the latest drivers (1202 killer-n)

Make sure it's on with the touch panel at the top too.

Disordered I had the Intel AC 7260, the drivers are available here https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=24216&lang=eng . I downloaded only the version for Windows 7 without the pro set wireless software and it worked. Thanks for the help, for a moment I thought I had faulty hardware. I don't know if this is the place to add this, but I also succeeded in adding two 8gb corsair 1333mhz ram sticks to the slots under the unit bringing the total ram size to 24gb from 8gb. For some reason the slot under the keyBoard didn't let me add another 8gb to bring it to 32gb, so I had to leave the 8gb ram stick that came with the laptop there. I had to repaste though, as the processor seemed to run hotter with the addition of the 1.5v ram sticks... most sites mentioned mixing 1.5v and 1.35v sticks was risky but I tried anyway.
Anyways I'll keep you posted with any new developments
