    So here's my dilemma:

I have an MSI GT70 0NE-609US. I've connected my S/P-DIF mini-toslink to toslink cable to my receiver. I can pass-through PCM 2.0, DTS and DD audio to it without any issue whatsoever. The problem I am facing is that there seems to not be an option to enable real-time Dolby Digital (Dolby Digital Live) or DTS (DTS Connect) output from the sound card's options. I've been scratching my head on this one for some time as I'm aware that the ALC 892 chipset does have support for it.

It would be awesome to play my games in 5.1 without resorting to either 3 jack plugs (the audio quality of the triple jack inserts just does not come close to that of S/P-DIF :D) or buying a separate USB sound card...

So far, I have flashed an updated BIOS, installed an updated audio driver from MSI (6728), and installed an even newer driver straight from Realtek (6873). None of these has rectified this so far. :(

Any one have any tips or advice on rectifying this issue?

Do you see 5.1 in: Playback devices -> highlight Speakers -> Configure button -> 5.1 Surround?

I'm not sure which decoding method and frequency that defaults to though. :(

Indeed, I do. But, unfortunately, this only applies to the triple jack output and not the S/P-DIF output :(
