Hello there! im in need of help.
I cant use the turbo fan. It was working great but today i just power on the pc and got a big crash, then i procede to restart it (i never had a crash before) but when i restart it the turbo fan wasnt working. The fan works at a normal speed but no luck with the turbo. I download MSI afterburn but for some reason i cant control the fan. Anyone had this problem before? turbofan not working? i cant do nothing without the turbofan couse it gets too hot :X

Have you tried an ec reset (remove battery and ac).

Go to BIOS and test to see if it's working in the BIOS. if it's working in the BIOS then it's probably just the software issue.

Yes i already tried ec reset, i removed the battery and ac and leave it there overnight but it didnt work.

I was trying to see if its working in the bios but i couldnt find any option about the fan in the bios. my fear is that it may be a hardware problem but i dont know what could be wrong since the fan is working, its just the overclook that is not working :X

I think he was suggesting you enter BIOS and then hit the turbo fan button. There are no settings in BIOS for the fans as far as I recall.

MSI afterburner will have no fan controls no, there is a comunity made program that can, pherein made the original, there may be a new one I think.

Which BIOS did you install and which exact model do you have? A link to both would be great.

Do an EC reset and try again.
Please also share your BIOS and EC version.
Additionally, please test the turbo fan button while you are in the BIOS.

First i would like to thank everyone for your time
Now letme give you some info about what i've tried the last days

First i try doing a EC reset, didnt work
Then i download and installed the firmware from the msi page for my model (GT70 ONC 494us) didnt change anything
I even tried flashing the bios from the msi page, again didnt work
Read some coments here and in other forums and tried to use the turbo button in bios, no luck
I also reinstalled SMC, delete the previous instalation and instal again, again no luck
Then just in case use windows recovery to load the system from a point were the button was working, lost a couple of programs doing this, but no changes
Last i tried using MSI afterburner, hwinfo, hwmonitor, speedfan, everest (and another program that i cant remeber the name right now) and i didnt even get to see the fan speed.

So im starting to think is hardware related, still cant figure what could be broken since the fan is working at normal speed.

A couple of things that may be interesting:
-I notice some small noise comming from my fan at all times, not only when i hit the turbo button
-The CPU temp is going over 80ºC (hit 94ºC) before turning off
-The GPU temp seams to be normal when im using the integrated graphic instead of the nvidia, its strange since, CPU, chipset and mp are all on the same dissipator

Dave Pearson's tool allows manual control in 10% increments from automatic upto 100% speed on my GT70 0NE - it is originally written for 2OD but should work with other 60/70 models, too.

Since there are several issues with your system, if it's still under warranty then it's recommended to contact MSI directly to obtain warranty services.

For the serial number, you must enter exactly as it's shown to you, with space and dash, and 0NC (zero N C), not O like orange.

Ok so i talked to the service guys and they said the fan is broken, it works but really slow so i have to get a new one. Im not really convinced about this, but i will try. They will deliver my pc today while they try to find a new fan, so im going to use an old laptop fan in the meanwhile and see if its really that. Will keep you guys informed
