To the best of my knowledge, 95% of those caddies are not made for the laptop to begin with and are simply generics... The real trick is the cosmetics and the bezel, you would have to take off the CD drive bezel and put it onto the outside of the tray and hope things fit.... Also the screw holes don't line up, but I figure I can just drill my own in the bezel.

My MSI comes tomorrow, and I've already got a generic ebay HDD bay like the one you linked, so I'll let you know in a day how the install went. I will say that $20 seems high, I think the average price for a generic bay is usually around $10-$12 shipped.

For my gt70-one I got this and this. I was planning on installing another ssd in the optical bay drive but it would only show up in windows where the data drive is located. I then moved the data drive to the optical bay slot, and every works fine.
    (I also live in Canada)

So you put the Hard Drive Caddy inside the External USB 2.0 Enclosure Kit? I thought the ODD would fit right away. Confused

No, i put the blueray burner in the enclosure kit for the odd time i use it. Put the data drive in the caddy (installed in odd bay), and the new ssd where the data drive was, sorry for the confusion!

UPDATE: The caddy I got does NOT fit. I'm pretty sure I got the "slim 9.5mm" sized caddy instead of the one linked by brim31 which says its a 12.7mm caddy. Because of that, mine is a tad smaller and will slide right in, BUT the connector does not line up right vertically, not sure I can see a way to fix it either, I'll probably have to pick up another one and make sure its the thicker variety.

Brim31 - did you purchase the EXACT auction linked, or one "similar"?
