How did you install W7? If you used a Install disk then the problem is not related to W7 as the install would have failed.

Any software that has some distant interfacing with the drive you have installed recently?

Ive had an issue with the drive completely dissapearing, microsoft released a fix for it so you may have a similar issue.

Hi guys, its been a while. This whole time my DVD drive was not working - and still isnt, but I think I found the problem, but I am not sure on how to fix it. I went into the device manager, and under the DVD/CD-ROM drives tab, it was opened up and had yellow exclamation marks over the 3 things in the tab. The first thing on the DVD drives tab is the Optiarc DCD RW AD-7560S ATA Device with a exclamation mark on the picture. I go into it and it says: A driver (service) for this device has been disabled. An alternate driver may be providing this functionality. (Code 32) The other 2 things are both really weird names. They are both called the same thing - UJSJWZ 6BKLM3C1Y70 SCS1 CdRom Device What in the world is going on with this? Anyone have any ideas on how to fix it? I tried to disable the two random lettered names, but it didnt do anything. Thanks for any info you may have.

Did you install some sort of drive emulator (eg. Daemon Tools) perhaps?

Yes, but I never had a problem with it on any other computer, I will try uninstalling it. If this is the problem...I might be very angry lol
