Hi guys. My DVD/CD Drive is not reading anything. I have windows 7 installed. When I did this did it somehow mess something up with my laptop? I would really like to install stuff lol.

How did you install W7? If you used a Install disk then the problem is not related to W7 as the install would have failed.

I installed it with a disc

Is the dvd rom showing up in the bios? (press delete on start-up to enter bios)

Any software that has some distant interfacing with the drive you have installed recently?
Ive had an issue with the drive completely dissapearing, microsoft released a fix for it so you may have a similar issue. -
Hi guys, its been a while. This whole time my DVD drive was not working - and still isnt, but I think I found the problem, but I am not sure on how to fix it. I went into the device manager, and under the DVD/CD-ROM drives tab, it was opened up and had yellow exclamation marks over the 3 things in the tab. The first thing on the DVD drives tab is the Optiarc DCD RW AD-7560S ATA Device with a exclamation mark on the picture. I go into it and it says: A driver (service) for this device has been disabled. An alternate driver may be providing this functionality. (Code 32) The other 2 things are both really weird names. They are both called the same thing - UJSJWZ 6BKLM3C1Y70 SCS1 CdRom Device What in the world is going on with this? Anyone have any ideas on how to fix it? I tried to disable the two random lettered names, but it didnt do anything. Thanks for any info you may have.
