Hey all... Have a buddy with a GT683R looking to buy a notebook cooler... Do any of you know if the Notepal U2 is large enough? I have a U3 myself and its quite a lot larger than the U2.

I know that the laptop itself is wider than the U2, but the feet are set in just a tad, will they fit on top of the U2?

Generally, for the 15" gaming machines I recommend a 17" notebook cooler. They tend to fit a lot more comfortably (that's what I do on my 15.6"). I would agree with Flapo in this case that the U3 is the way to go on that machine.

Does it really need one? Even with everything OCed I don't see high temps.

A decent flat surface should be fine.

I agree, anything other than maybe the 580m or 6990m doesn't really need any more cooling apart from the stock cooling fan.
