    Hi !

I need your help, recently GPU GTX 570M in my laptop died. I was told that it cannot be fixed, and the only way is to replace the graphics card. I thought that it might be a good time to even make an upgrade if possible. The problem is that i am not too familiar with laptop parts and their compatibilities thats why i need easiest possible explanation.
So here it goes.... what kind of card other than 570M would run on my laptop. I wanted to simply replace the card with the same model but unfortunetelly i cannot reach any but have access to some other models. I bought GTX 780M previously but the service that tried to install it for me told me that it isn't compatible with my laptop and wont run it.
On an auction i saw GTX 580M (catalogue part no. D/PN:3MF8R) dedicated to Dell Alienware M18X M17x M15x but the seller cant tell if it will work with other laptop.

I also see there is GTX 675M (N13E-GS1) for Dell Alienware M17X R4, M18X R2 but the same situation - the seller cant tell if it will work.

There are also other modells available from time to time and even the newest 970M and 980M but if 780M is incompatible than probabily so arent 970 & 980.

    Laptop spec:
    - MSI GT683DXR
    - i7 2670QM
    - GTX 570M

If i didn't include something critical about laptop specification please tell me what is needed.

I really need your help to tell me which models are compatible and which best model would be best. I'm interested only in NVIDIA cards.

P/S: If there wont be any hope left i can consider changing the mainboard and heatsinks but i also need it layed out like for a cow on a road :p

    Thank you.

stand for a 3-yr older Gfx, are you seriously want to stay in current body but not jump to a new one?... not only Gfx MXM but you will need thermal module as well, as I know they my have differences.

Well the biggest boost would be a 970M with either modifying your existing heatsink or buying one from the last GT60/GT70 designs.
