NCIX is a Canadian company. They ship from Canada, to Canada. The prices are in Canadian dollars. NCIXUS.com doesn't have that SKU. Also, free shipping offers are pretty rare up here and this laptop cannot be shipped for free with a promotional offer. To get "free" shipping, you have to purchase additional coverage from NCIX, which is $112.

The resolution of the notebook's screen has nothing to do with the output resolution of the HDMI port. Of course it'll work with your TV.

But yeah, it's a pretty bad value compared to the competition. The GX640 still rules the multiverse!

GX660 has the 5870, but that model you posted is pricey.

Great, now everything MSI comes out with will be compared against their value offerings, mostly the GX640 and the GX740. At this point in time and until they discontinue the GXx40s, MSI's new notebooks will be competing against their old ones.

They'd have to price their new gaming machines similarly or lower, and that just isn't feasible with USB 3, 2 hard drives, 6GB RAM, a Core i7 CPU and a Radeon HD 5870. MSI have established themselves as a company that makes value gaming notebooks. I hope they come out with something more in line with their previous offerings. If they start making $2000 notebooks I don't think it's gonna work well for them, considering that that market segment is already saturated with much bigger names.

The GX 660 is about $200 more than a GX640, thing is you get a much better cooling setup, much nicer speakers and USB 3.0.
All in all a pretty good deal if you ask me.

To each his own, most people are not interested or buying this laptop for the light show, and they can be disabled if you want.
I'll admit most people will get bored with it after the novelty wears out, all in all you have respect it for what it is.
USB 3.0, 5870 and potentially the best built in speakers in the laptop world all in a relatively small packages the best performance hardware available.

Gx660 releases August 12th and it will have a 5870 ATI. I don't think a 17" version is being released since I haven't seen one anywhere. August 12th feels like it's so far away. I don't think I'll be able to wait until then.
