It is fine to run the turbo when playing games. Just realize it is a very minor overclock of the GPU and won't increase performance much.

You do not need to run the fan at max all of the time in every game. The GPU runs quite cool from the couple days of use with mine. I plan to only use it when I'm in a warm room, when overclocking manually and pushing the limits of my GPU, or when my GPU is getting very hot in general (like in certain demanding games or while benchmarking).

I'm not sure what the question is, but if you are not getting good performance in WoW then I bet you are running off of the Intel GPU. You may need to "whitelist" the WoW launcher and/or the main executable.

You do not NEED to run either during games. As I said above the turbo doesn't do much, so it's not required, but also won't hurt any. The max fan will indeed cool the system down and extend the life of the GPU/CPU but is not needed unless you are extreme overclocking manually or having heat problems.

There are several programs listed in the official GT60 One owners thread in the first post that you can use to monitor your GPU and CPU temps, as long as they are in the safe range, you dont need to use the max fan. It wont hurt to use it all the time, but this setting is rather loud. also i dont use the turbo button.

In terms of WoW, i dont play that particular game, however i do play GW2 and with every setting set on max, i get great performance so it should be able to handle WoW. so try updating the 680M drivers if you have not done that already.

Ummmmm, the discussion starts here? No, it started a few months ago in this thread.....

***The Official MSI GT 60 w/GTX-680M Owner’s Lounge***

..... so why create an entire thread for a couple of your personal questions? I am sure the other owners there would have been happy to answer you questions. Just say'in...... ;)

To answer your questions, running WOW in turbo mode and boosting the fan speed is entirely optional. Since these notebooks were only equipped with a 180W PA, MSI has limited the Turbo TDE function and 680M OC capability. As such, the Turbo button is pretty much useless, providing little to no performance boost at all. Even without the Turbo function, the 680M should have no problem with WOW, and has plenty of power to play most any game on the market.

If you are having an issue with WOW, are you using the latest NVidia 306.23 driver, and are you sure WOW is using the NVidia GPU?

Also, you can boost fan speed manually if you like, but the system fan control profile will automatically boost fan speeds when CPU & GPU temperatures rise.

    :)

Well I still haven't bought mine, waiting for christmas, but thought i could help. In a quick search in google found this in the steam forum, it's about Magika, but the process is the same except you'll add WOW's executable. Hope this helps.

"Instructions: If you're using a newer laptop that you know has an NVidia graphics card, try checking your Optimus settings. Open the "NVIDIA Control Panel" from your start menu. On the lefthand side, under "Select a task...", open the "3D Settings" tree, and select "Manage 3D Settings". Now on the righthand panel, click the "Program Settings" tab. Under "1. Select a program...", click "Add", navigate to your \Steam\steamapps\common\magicka directory and select "Magicka.exe". Under "2. Select the preferred graphics...", choose "High-performance NVIDIA processor", then (VERY IMPORTANT) click "Apply" in the bottom right."
