Ok i know this is a weird choice since they are both completely different. So here is my choice. I am going to be getting either one of these refurbished. I want the 17in. because... well its 17 inch and awesome for LAN parties. But im thinking it might be too big for me. I like using my laptop in the mornings when i wake up on my lap or in bed at night time (just browsing, not gaming).

Im thinking the GT780DX might be too big for me. I mean 2.2 inches is a bit thick! Also i will be going to college, but not for a little bit over a year. But im worried if I get the GT780DX now im going to be upset when I go to college. Or i might sell it in a year and get something smaller for college.

So here is the deal with prices. On Amazon I can get the GT780DX for $150 cheaper than the GT60. Also I dont care about the GPU because I know the 670m is just a 570m with higher clock speeds. But is the IVB worth it?

    MSI GT60: $1285
    -Intel Core i7-3610QM Processor
-Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit
    -15.6" Full HD Anti-reflective Display (16:9, 1920 x 1080)
-NVIDIA GeForce GTX670M discrete graphics with 3GB GDDR5 VRAM
    -12GB DDR3 1600MHz system memory
    -1TB HDD (500GB x2), 7200RPM

    MSI GT780DX: $1135
    -Intel® Core™ i7-2670QM Processor
    -Windows® 7 Home Premium 64 bit
    -17.3" Full HD Anti-reflective Display (16:9; 1920 x 1080)
    -NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 570M discrete graphics (1.5GB GDDR5 VRAM)
    -750GB hard drive (7200 RPM)
    -12GB DDR3 system memory (4GB x 3)

So in my position do you think its worth going with the GT780DX or the GT60? Also the difference between the 750GB HDD and the 1 TB HDD does not matter to me, its mainly just the size comparison and CPU.

    Thanks.

The 780 is heavy-----about 9 pounds. It's a big machine for holding on yje lap.

Ram is faster in the gt60. Ivy bridge has optimus. Not sure about the display, but gt60 should have a matte by default. Which is better IMO. Raid if you want more performance/contingency. Than its a matter of 15" vs 17"? The case is also better on the gt60. Its pretty obvious, but comes down what YOU really want.

Yeah see thats what i thought. It just seems to heavy and too big for my kind of use. Thanks for the input.

I completely forgot about optimus. Well that's a huge deal breaker there. I see that the GT60 really is the better option. Thank you.
