    Hi,

I have a problem with my built-in monitor going blank. Now, before i explain the problem, just let me say that I have searched high and low, and cant find any thread that helped my problem.

I can use external monitors, no problem, both connected to the HDMI and VGA, but the build-in screen is blank. Sometimes, if I before restarting the computer, pull out the battery, wait a little, and then start the computer, the screen turns on. But then it turns on after logging in, or after I wake up the computer from hibernating.

Yesterday I installed some new software from the MSI site, amongst others, new nvidia drivers, and flashed bios.
Now, I know that the flash went without problems, and the sympoms do not mach those of bricking, since the computer starts up just fine, and everything except the screen works. I have also tried uninstalling the drivers, but it does not seem to help. But, from what I can gather, the external monitors are running on the built in intel graphics card, and not the nvidia one.

Have anyone experienced similar symptoms, and what should I try to fix it?

Try saving the bios defaults and making sure the display cable is seated correctly (motherboard end is under the touch bar, display end it on the back of the panel).

It cant be a problem with the cable, as the screen works if I boot up after removing the battery and ac.
I have been resetting the bios plenty times, did not do anything but mess up my boot-order, and therefore giving me the "missing bootmgr" fault.

Same exact problem with the factory sealed review unit we just received. Sometimes display corruption before the panel goes blank (though backlighting is still on). Works fine via HDMI. We sent it back.

Strange that this should happen after two years, and precicely on the same date that I update some drivers, isnt it?
