So was just wondering, whats the future of this baby and is it in the production or so?

Have not seen or heard anyone personally talking about it.

I've already seen it for sale on a few websites in the UK. They had stock yesterday when I was looking. Overclockers UK had it for sale and a few others if you're interested. It was like $3500 US dollars though!!

    MSI GT60 20D 15.6" 3K Resolution, i7-4700MQ, 16GB DDR3, 3x 128GB SSD and 750GB HDD, GTX 780M 4GB, BD Writer, Killer NIC - Windows 8 [GT60 2OD-092UK]

Seems to be plenty of options to buy it now if you're in UK or EU. I am thinking the US release is maybe a week off.

It's taken a little while for everything to come together and also note the UK is always very expensive MSI notebook wise.

It's actually cheaper than the 17" 1080p version with the same spec on overclockers.

Not buying one until the price is reasonable. I'm not about to pay DOUBLE over the garden-variety models...for a screen that's still lower resolution that the "retina" displays that come standard on everything under 10" display these days.

UK MSI prices have always been a little.... high.

If you compare the 1080p UK machines to the 3k machines the difference is not that large.

Shiens. Compared to what Sager, Cyberpower, Ibuypower & Alienware would charge...MSI is actually quite reasonable. Usually, they've offered performance laptops for ~$1500 when others would charge at least $2,000. For whatever reason though, they expect consumers to be willing to pay DOUBLE for just a screen upgrade--something which, imho, has been LONG, LONG overdue in the laptop sector.

    Not Happening.

Sorry but I fail to see where they are charging double for it.

I already said that uk msi prices are higher and also the uk has a 20% vat rate so I'm still confused why you think you will have to pay double?

Ok, so subtract all that. Price is still 50% premium over the regular ones. Compare that to my Sager, where the cost to upgrade from WSXGA to WUXGA was $150. You can't convince me that ANY screen upgrade is worth a grand. MSI needs to get its head out of the clouds on this one.

    P.S.
prices in singapore for the 3k's is just as stupidly high.
