    Hi guys
i have MSI GT60 2PE which i love it..Its been a year since i have it and since last 2 weeks i have this problem..Out of sudden it restarts itself..Its like shut down completely for 2 sec then starts again..So far i tried these
Used without plugged in still does it
Format and reinstall everything no result
i am pretty sure its not a heating problem..cuz even when i am just browsing on internet it also happened (which around 50 C ) ..but i realized the heat sensor is not working like it used to be when i bought this..it was pretty stable at first 8 months like changes only 1 or 2 degrees at once..but now it goes like 5-8 degress

anyway so i am desperate..i love my laptop but i dont know what to do with it..i am not sure but i suspect this could be a hardware problem
i am open for any solution or advice :)
    thanks in advance

Have you checked Event Viewer to find out what caused the restart?
If you don't find anything suspicious then run memtest instead, see if there's any memory errors.
    http://www.memtest.org/

Thanks for the reply at first
i did as you suggested and event viewer spotted many errors and warnings..i am not very familliar what are those but here is the list of errors and warnings

    Critical :
    Kernel-Power eventID 41 task category (63)

    Errors :
DistributedCOM eventID 10005 task category none
Service Control Manager eventID 7001 task category none

as i realized these 2 error happened almost hundred times each
and there are also few more warning but happened 1 time only

EventLog eventID 6008 task category none
volmgr eventID 46 task category none

    Warnings :
    Kernel-PnP eventID 219 task category (212)
Wininit eventID 11 task category none
DNS Client Events eventID 1014 task category none

    thats all in the list

Thanks for posting the event id.
Can you provide your BIOS & EC firmware versions?
To find out, press DEL to enter BIOS upon booting up, then go to System Information under the main page.
    Thank you.

Thanks for the picture, the latest BIOS is E16F4IMS.50Y, and the latest EC is 16F4EMS1.517.
Updating to the newest version may help with the Event ID error because they are outdated.

humm ok i will update them but do you think these errors are the certain reasons of these random restarts ? or could it be anything else ? Also i havent update my windows to the windows 10..do you recommend update that first..cuz as i know bios and firmware updates depend on the windows you use right ?
    what do you suggest ?

Try memtest.org first, and make sure no memory errors from the test.
    Update BIOS/EC firmware.
Don't do anything to the OS yet.

Btw i still have the problem..i was using my laptop just now and it happened again :(
its getting really frustrating..i will give you few more information about these restars
first it started to happen pretty often..
it happens when pc is just starting or on recovery screen
it happens few times in a row like 3-4 times before i get a chance to do anything on starting screen
lately when it happens on starting screen its like all black..i dont see the starting screen so i close it by pushing power button and start again
i am not sure but i try to used it in safe mode..never happened there so far..yet i didnt use it for too long maybe 3 hours or sometrhing like that
    its all

i think problem might be power suply

Just to make sure, you are connected to both AC adapter and your battery inside the machine right?

Ok, since HW has no issues, let's just back up the data, then perform factory recovery on the OS. Hopefully the PC becomes stable afterwards.
    Don't do any updates yet.

If you don't have the original recovery media on DVD and USB flash drive, then can you call MSI tech support to place an order for it?

Wow... exact same issue started happening to my laptop(MSI GT60 2PC) .. i have even tried re-pasting thinking it could be due to heat .. unfortunately it did not solve the issue, did you find the root cause please let me know.
